Walking around your model is a great way to experience your design in VR, however you can increase your accessibility within using a mix of teleportation, locomotion control and the Edit menu.
Exploring the scene with Locomotion
Fologram supports locomotion to give you total control of your movement in VR. To move forward, press the joystick forward on your left controller. To turn, press the joystick to the left or right on the right hand controller. Locomotion can cause motion sickness in VR, so the default speed is quite slow to prevent nausea, however you can customize the speed in the Settings menu. We recommend using locomotion for small scale movements, and teleportation for large movements. Locomotion cannot be used when hand tracking is activated.
Exploring the scene with Teleportation
Fologram supports teleportation to give you a faster range of movement around your VR scene. This movement is perfect for larger scale models. To activate teleportation, press forward on the right joystick to activate a green fishing line. Let go of the joystick to teleport to the end of the fishing line. You can teleport onto the base XY plane and geometry in your scene. If your fishing line turns red, it means the geometry you are aiming at cannot be teleported to. You can also adjust the direction you are facing after teleportation by rotating the right joystick after pressing forward. Teleportation cannot be used when hand tracking is activated.
Adjusting model locations with the Edit Menu
If you want to make adjustments to the model location in VR, or you need to move around with hand tracking activated, you can move the entire model in the Edit menu. The ‘Place’ option allows you to relocate the origin of your model. The movement options below will allow you to interactively move the model location based on selected settings.
