This guide will provide an introduction to some of the interaction and manipulation tools available in Fologram’s Grasshopper toolkit. These tools will allow you to take control over the HoloLens and Oculus Quest motion capture, hand tracking and object manipulation features. At the end of this guide you should be able to send 6dof ‘Grabbable’ objects to Fologram and build simple motion capture applications that will send data live to your Rhino session.

This guide is intended for Fologram users of both the HoloLens and Oculus Quest who are looking for a simple introduction to creating interactive applications using Fologram’s Grasshopper toolkit.

You should be able to finish the guide in under an hour.
What do I need before I start?
Make sure you have completed the Beginners Guide for either the HoloLens or Oculus Quest. You can find these guides here:
- A Beginners Guide to Mixed Reality on HoloLens 1 & 2
- A Beginners Guide to Virtual Reality in the Oculus Quest
You will need either a HoloLens or Oculus Quest device. You will also need a laptop or PC running Rhino. You can get a free evaluation copy of Rhino here.
Install Fologram for Rhino on the laptop or PC you want to work with.
Finally, make sure your HoloLens or Oculus Quest and PC can access the same WiFi network.
