Fologram’s Grasshopper plugin also contains some easy to use tracking tools. These tools give you the ability to turn your device into a motion capture tool directly tethered to Rhino.
Track Device
The Track Device component outputs live positional data from any HoloLens, Quest or mobile device and represents this in Grasshopper as a Plane output. This can be used as a simple motion capture method in Grasshopper. Check out this example on our community forum that tracks your device location to create a colourful ribbon trail.
Track Pointers
The Track Pointers component outputs any hand rays detected within a HoloLens or Quest device. These are represented in Grasshopper through a dynamic cast, which allows you to transform the output into line, vector or point data. Check out this example on our community forum that creates a cursor from the Track Pointers component and applies it to a simple drawing tool.
Track Hands
The Track Hands component outputs a live representation of hand tracking in the HoloLens and Oculus Quest. These are represented in Grasshopper as a collection of 25 points representing different tracked locations on your hands. Check out this example on our community forum that aligns a piece of jewellery to your hands.
Track Controllers
The Track Controllers component outputs a live positional data of controllers tethered to your Oculus Quest device. These are represented in Grasshopper as a Plane output. This can be used as a simple motion capture method in Grasshopper. Check out this example on our community forum that takes the rotational data from the Quest controllers to orient an industrial robotic arm.
